Create real metal parts using any open-architecture FFF/FDM 3D printer—or even a 3D printing pen.
Available Formats
- Spools: 1.75mm and 2.85mm diameters in 0.25kg and 0.5kg weights
- Pellets: 1kg jars
Material Specifications
- Filament Density: 2.50g/cc – 2.85g/cc
- Metal Content: 78.0% – 82.0% titanium (Ti-6Al-4V ELI, Grade 23)
- High Compatibility: Works with virtually any open-architecture 3D printer—no proprietary hardware or specialized equipment required. Also compatible with 3D printing pens. Review our Trusted 3D Printers List to check configuration settings.
Easy Printing Experience
- Print with a 0.6mm hardened steel, standard flow nozzle.
- Prints with characteristics highly similar to standard PLA.
- Experiences minimal to no warping during the build.
- Ensure the filament feeds straight into the extruder to prevent buckling.
- Less hygroscopic than PLA; do not dry this filament, as drying will degrade the polymer binder.
- For comprehensive configuration guidelines, see our full Filamet™ Printing Guide.
Advanced Sintering Capability
After printing, your "green" part can be processed in a sintering furnace to remove the binder, resulting in a 100% pure metal component.
Technical Note on Titanium Sintering: Titanium Grade 23 ELI requires a highly specialized high-vacuum or ultra-pure Argon gas furnace environment to successfully prevent oxidation at elevated temperatures. Because of these advanced material constraints, standard sintering trials have not been conducted on this product, and we do not provide direct debinding or sintering support. We highly encourage connecting with fellow industrial users to share setup details on The Virtual Foundry Discord Server.
