Bronze Filamet™ (Metal Filament)

  • $ 127.29

The Bronze 3D printing process, using fused filament fabrication (FFF), is an innovative technique that combines traditional metalworking with modern additive manufacturing technology. Unlike the conventional bronze casting process at a foundry, such as lost wax casting, which involves creating a wax model, encasing it in a mold, and then melting the wax away to pour molten bronze, bronze 3D printing uses metal filaments or bronze powders to build the object layer by layer directly from a digital model.

This transition from traditional bronze casting to 3D printed parts allows for greater precision, reduced material waste, and the ability to create complex geometries or interlocking parts that would be challenging or impossible to achieve with traditional methods. By leveraging advancements in metal 3D printing, artisans and manufacturers can produce high-quality intricate bronze parts, bronze sculptures, and miniatures efficiently, maintaining the aesthetic and structural qualities of traditionally cast bronze while benefiting from the flexibility and innovation of additive manufacturing.

Bronze Filamet™ (Bronze Metal 3D Printing Filament) is available as 1.75mm and 2.85mm filament and as pellets.

Specs: This filament comes in 0.5kg and 1kg spools and 1kg bags of pellets. It contains 88.0% - 90.0% metal and has a density of 4.29g/cc - 4.5g/cc.

High Compatibility: This Filamet™ enables any open-architecture Fused Filament Fabrication 3D printer to produce metal objects. Even works in 3D printing pens!

Easy to Print: All you need is an open architecture 3D printer, a 0.6mm hardened steel nozzle, a Filawarmer, and a model to print. Print like regular PLA. Place your spool so that the filament coming off is going straight into the extruder. The flow rate in your slicer may need to be adjusted up to 135%. Little to no warping occurs during printing.

Advanced Properties: Filamet™ is less hygroscopic than regular PLA. Filament dryers have adverse effects on Filamet™. Spools should not be dried.

Fully Sinterable Metal Filament: Once fired in a sintering furnace, the result is 100% metal. Instructions for sintering this product.

Special Qualities: Bronze Filamet™ is our easiest material to print and sinter. It is the perfect material to begin with.

Used For: Partner Innovators have used this filament for research.

Eliminate tooling and machining costs for short run manufacturing, prototyping, and one-off metal part needs.

Note: All sales final except in cases of defective product.
